“It is written, “ ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4, ESV)
This verse comes after Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Spirt to be tempted by the devil. He fasted for 40-days. Despite being hungry, Jesus refused to use His divine power to make loaves of bread out of stones, which would’ve made his trials easier.
Jesus reminds us that outside of our bodily temptations, theres a Word of God that fills and fuels us in life. Our stomachs may crave nutrients, but our Spirt craves sacrifice and soulfulness.

Today Focus:
• Turn Scripture into sustenance. Find one verse that feeds your Spirit and dive into the deeper meaning behind it.
Prayer 🙏
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for blessing us with your Word in Scripture, and giving us a guiding light that fills us with warmth and assurance. Just like we open the cabinet or ‘fridge to fill our stomachs, we can open the Bible or the door to Church, and fill our Spirits. I ask that you please continue to guide us through the darkness when we can’t see our way. Give us sight amidst the abyss, and strength to not be lead into temptation. In Jesus name, Amen.
Thanks for being here today! Hope to see you tomorrow!
Have a blessed day friend! 🙏✝️
