Day 12 — “Discipline When You Don’t Feel It”

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.  (Hebrews 12:11, ESV)

There’s not really any of us who enjoy being disciplined. Sometimes it feels unfair, sometimes it feels overbearing or undeserving.

Yet, as we’ve discussed previous days, it’s crucial we trust in Gods process and judgement. God is merely training us to be worthy Christians in His army. God says that a father who does not discipline his son, is a father who does not love his son.

God adopts us into His family when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. As a loving Father, God disciplines us, justly, to help us; grow, take action, change, learn, and just overall become the best versions of ourselves to reap the peaceful fruits of righteousness.

Today’s Focus:

• Commitment over emotion.

• Trust the process.

Prayer 🙏

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for welcoming me into your family with open arms. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice for my sins. And thank you for giving me the opportunities to make sacrifices in order to grow as well. In those times I may struggle, hurt, or worry, but at the end of the day, I know you’re in my corner and that I must just find the growth in those times and continue to thank you and ask you for guidance. May myself, and all your children, continue to enjoy the fruits of your guidance and training as we grow through our lives. Amen.
